Born and raised in Denver Colorado. I love the mountains and come from a very outdoorsy family. I am an eagle scout. After I graduated from high school I went to college in Iowa. I went to Simpson College, a small liberal arts college south of Des Moines. There I majored in history and chemistry with a minor in art history. I was as involved as I could possibly be on campus and was involved in a vast array of organizations ranging from Pride to my fraternity. Graduated with honors in history having completed a historical honors thesis about the Great Leap Forward. After graduation, I went back to Colorado and worked as an event staff at the Denver Performing Arts Center and Civic Center. Moved to San Antonio Texas to work for UTSA in October 2019. I am an avid runner and hiker. I read (mostly history) and enjoy cooking and baking. I play some video games and am a huge Science Fiction TV nerd. Outside of work I spend my time studying for the GRE, hanging out with my boyfriend, watching tv, and reading.
Here at UTSA, I am part of Pride Faculty and Staff Association, Survivors Faculty and Staff Association, and the Roadrunner Cat Coalition.
Research interests: China under Mao, the American AIDS Crisis, and World War II.
