Marlys McKinney

Program Coordinator, First-Generation and Transfer Student Center

I have been a staff member at UTSA for two years and on the Pride Faculty and Staff steering committee for about a year. I graduated from Southwestern University as a first-generation college student with a degree in Political Science and Economics. I have held various education-related jobs, including teaching English in Japan. My interests include travel, watching TV, and reading. Some favorites include Fleabag, Please Like Me, Brooklyn 99, and Schitt’s Creek for shows and Red, White, and Royal Blue; Gideon the Ninth; and Circe for books. My favorite part of being a part of the queer community is found family and my friendships are very important to me!
