she/her/hers
Hello! My name is Damaris, and I am very excited about the opportunity to help you through your personal, academic, and/or professional journey. I am a double-alumna from UTSA. I graduated with a double-major in Psychology and Spanish, and I have my M.S. in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. I have been working in higher education for the past 12 years in different areas, such as financial aid, tutoring, advising, and currently, I work with Dreamers and Undocumented students. Since a young age, I have been surrounded by the LGBTQ+ community, as my mother was a tremendous ally in our hometown. When I was a teenager, I identified as bisexual. However, through my sexual orientation journey, I now identify as a lesbian.
I am passionate about the success of students by utilizing a holistic lens, and ensuring they have resources for their physical and mental health. At the same time, I am interested in learning how LGBTQ+ members interact with the different cultures they are surrounded by. In my downtime, I like playing video games (my two favorite franchises are The Legend of Zelda and The Last of Us), spend time with my wife, cat, and dog, cook new recipes, and build Legos.
